Bay of Quinte Golf & Country Club Expansion
3 New Holes Now Open for Play
Earlier in the season, Bay of Quinte Golf & Country Club unveiled three additional new holes as part of its multi-year expansion, an ambitious project that will see the club grow into two full 18-hole courses by the start of the 2026 season. I’d walked this section of the property last year while the holes were still under construction, and even then, the potential was obvious.
Naturally, I had to play them on opening day—and I’m glad I did. Like the new additions from last season, these holes are expertly carved through mature woods with a creative touch. They blend beautifully into the landscape, but don’t let the scenery fool you, these holes can bite you if you let them.

The first of the new holes is Hole No. 9, a picturesque par 3 with a water hazard between the green and the tees and little room behind the green. To make it more interesting, there’s a greenside bunker, front and centre of the green. From the tips, No. 9 plays 155 yards; from the reds, just 105. As with all the new par 3 holes at Bay of Quinte, golfers are treated to large tee blocks and greens. My hopes of being the first golfer to ace this new par 3 didn’t go as planned. I missed the green right (pin-high), chipped on, and two-putted for a bogey. Oh well, at least I didn’t donate a ball to the pond.
After hole No. 9, we carried on through the familiar stretch of 10, 11, and 12—previously holes 9, 10, and 13 under the old routing—before reaching the next new hole: Hole No. 13. This short par 4 has a gradual dogleg right and plays 300 yards from the tips and 230 yards from the reds. Off the tees, right-handed players with a gentle fade or lefties with a draw will find a clear advantage on this hole. From the white tees, a carry of about 100 yards will be needed to clear a small ravine crossing the fairway. Anything short will leave you in some nasty rough. A solid 200-yard shot shapes perfectly around the corner, leaving you a short wedge into the green. As with Hole No. 9, there’s a bunker front and centre, so don’t miss short.
Hole 14, the last of the three new holes opened for play, features an even more pronounced dogleg right. This hole plays 315 yards from the tips and 235 yards from the reds. The tee shot calls for the same shape as 13—fade for righties, draw for lefties—but with a bit more bite. Thread the corner correctly, and you’re rewarded with a short wedge into the green. Miss your line, and you’ll either be blocked out by a small cluster of birch trees in the fairway or staring down a tricky recovery from the rough. And yes, once again, there’s a bunker waiting just short of the green. These three new holes bring variety, strategy, and a touch of drama to the course. With 12 new holes now in play and six more still under construction, Bay of Quinte is well on its way to offering golfers two full 18-hole golf courses by the start of the 2026 golf season. Just one more reason why golf enthusiasts should consider the Bay of Quinte Region a golf destination well worth a visit.
