Bay of Quinte 2026 March Break Guide

BoQ MARCH BREAK GUIDE

We love March Break because it’s a sure sign that we’re getting closer to spring! It can be a daunting task to try and keep kids busy for an entire week, avoiding the inevitable “I’m bored” comments. We’re here to help you out with a guide of events and activities in the Bay of Quinte region to make planning a breeze.

March Break runs from March 16-20, 2026, and we’ve included some events on the weekends before and after to round it out.

EVENTS

Quinte West Familyfest

Kickstart your March Break at Quinte West FamilyFest at the Batawa Community Centre on March 15. Enjoy a pancake breakfast, crafts, face painting and a puppet show. Plus, kids can see OPP, Fire and City vehicles up close!

Waterfowl Weekend at Presqu'ile

Presqu’ile Provincial Park is a bird migration hotspot and its annual Waterfowl Weekend takes place March 14-15 this year. Sometimes the park can even see 20,000 birds and up to 20 different species! Volunteer naturalists will be set up with telescopes, displays and kids’ activities.

Quinte Sportsman Boat and RV SHOW

Our BoQ team members have fond childhood memories of tagging along with their parents at these shows, mostly to look at the cool boats and other outdoor gear on display. The Quinte Sportsman Boat & RV Show takes place March 13-15 in the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre with over 200 vendors, exhibits and attractions. This year, you can take the kids to check out Little Rays Reptile Zoo at select times

Go Sens Go!

Cheer on the Belleville Sens, AHL affiliate team of the Ottawa Senators, at the CAA Arena. They have three home games during March Break:

Movie & Market

Downtown Belleville and Empire Theatre present March Break Movie & Market on Thursday, March 19. Browse local market vendors before settling in for a FREE screening of Paddington in Peru. Doors open at 2 pm and the movie starts at 3:30 pm. Click here to reserve a ticket.

ACTIVITIES

HIT THE SLOPES

This is your last chance to get out for a ski or snowboard before Batawa Ski Hill closes for the season. They’ll be open from 9 am to 5 pm March 14-22, with Sunday, March 22 being their last operating day. Head to batawaskihill.ca for more information and to book your lift tickets or rentals.

Public Skating

Grab your skates and head to your nearest arena for some time on the ice. Just don’t forget to stop for mandatory hot chocolate on the way home. Click through below to find public skating schedules:

A Day at the Museum

Visit Glanmore National Historic Site in Belleville for Choose Your Own Adventure: solve a mystery through hands-on activities and interactive pathways.

Quinte West’s National Air Force Museum of Canada has activities for all ages with Ready, Jet, Go! running Monday-Friday of March Break.

Also in Quinte West, the Quinte Museum of Natural History will be opening with its new exhibit on March 16: Expedition Alert: Stories from the High Arctic.

In Napanee, the Museum of Lennox and Addington’s March Break theme is CREATE. The week will be filled with art, music, storytelling and lots of fun with a new activity each day.

The Great Outdoors

Grab your rubber boots and head outside for some fresh air. A few of our suggestions for a family-friendly hike are:

INDOOR ACTIVITIES

When the weather takes a turn, we’ve got you covered with these indoor activities. Strike up some fun at the bowling alley, crack the code in an escape room, or take aim with axe throwing. For something more low-key, kick back with a spa day, flip through your next favourite read at a bookstore, or hit the mall for some retail therapy. Rainy days don’t stand a chance here.
