FRIDAY: A FLAVOURFUL START
Dinner at Gogi Korean Grill
Once you’ve checked into your hotel, kick off your getaway with a delightful dinner at Gogi Korean Grill. This local favourite, known for its modern take on authentic Korean cuisine, promises a meal that’s both satisfying and a great introduction to the region’s culinary scene.
The family-friendly atmosphere and lovely staff set the stage for a warm welcome to Quinte West. The first time my daughter ordered a bowl of Pork Ramen she focused hard on maneuvering her chopsticks and then proudly told me, “Now I’ve had REAL ramen.”
Plan to budget around $100 for a family feast that sets the perfect tone for your weekend.
SATURDAY IS FOR ADVENTURE
Breakfast in the hotel
Many of the hotels in the region offer a complimentary breakfast. If you check ahead when you book, you can start out your day with a convenient breakfast before leaving the hotel.
Hit the Slopes
Next, head to Batawa Ski Hill, the small hill with big heart, located less than ten minutes north of the 401. For about $200, get lift tickets for the family and embrace the joy of skiing or snowboarding. The hill is known for its friendly staff and a warm, cozy chalet, perfect for a midday break.
Don’t forget to rent the necessary equipment for $135 and budget around $60 for a hearty lunch once you’ve worked up an appetite. My preteen is happy to go just to hang out in the chalet with poutine and a good book. If you’d like to add on lessons for the kids (or yourself) those are available at an extra fee
Unwind at Dinner
End your day with a dinner at Tomasso’s Italian Grille in downtown Trenton. This Italian-style restaurant, a local staple for 25 years, is known for its authentic pasta and signature pizzas. Expect to spend around $140 for a meal in the relaxing ambiance of dark wood and soft lighting, making for a cozy dining experience.

Get Competitive at Club Medd
With a small town, retro vibe, Club Medd Bowling has great prices for some family time letting the kids burn off any energy left at the end of the day.
Explore the Quinte Mall
Take a short drive to Belleville and spend some time strolling around the Quinte Mall. Be sure to check out K’Boodle, a one-of-a-kind store in the mall where you’ll find shelves and shelves of products from local artisans and businesses. I’ve collected more than a few favourite handmade coffee mugs from here.
Go Catch a Flick
Check out what’s on at Cineplex located beside the Quinte Mall. Grab some popcorn and snacks to curb any sudden hunger that kids always seem to have after a busy day.
SUNDAY: NATURE AND NIBBLES
Fuel Up

Hike and Explore
Connect with nature at Bleasdell Boulder Conservation Area, home to one of the largest known glacial erratics in North America. Estimated at over 2.3 billion years old my kids were amazed to realize it must be even older than their mom. Its height of 3.7 metres is something that has to be experienced in person.
Keep going a bit further north to Sager Conservation Area, featuring a scenic 30ft tall lookout tower. The full panoramic view of farmlands and forest of the Bay of Quinte offers an incredible opportunity to really take in the natural beauty of the region.
Snacks at Old Bank Cafe
Wrap up your trip with a visit to the Old Bank Cafe in Frankford. Budget around $50 to spend on organic coffee and treats including European-style pastries for the whole family in this charming cafe set in a historic bank building. It’s the perfect spot to reflect on your weekend adventures.
Before you head out, you can pop across the street to Foodland and grab some snacks for the road, and to distract from the inevitable ask from the back seat, “Are we there yet?”
