What’s On at the Pinnacle Playhouse: Hilda’s Yard

WHAT'S ON IN APRIL AT THE PINNACLE PLAYHOUSE

You’re invited for lemonade and a Black Label in Hilda’s Yard! This April, The Pinnacle Playhouse transports you to an autumn day in 1956, in the backyard of Hilda and Sam Fluck.

Read time: 2 min

Wife and mother, Hilda, gets an early jump on her chores while her husband Sam prepares for a sizeable purchase that will help them spend their evenings in well-earned relaxation. Suddenly, a number of uninvited visitors pop the bubble of their empty-nesting bliss and dash their plans for a relaxing evening.

Hilda’s Yard was written by Norm Foster, a Canadian playwright who is well-known in the theatre community. Many of his acclaimed plays such as The Melville Boys and The Foursome have graced the stage in Belleville and others will continue to do so in years to come. This play is a family comedy with so much heart and hijinks it’s bound to be a great night spent at the theatre for anyone who sees it.

This play is the directorial debut of Alexandra Bell who has been part of the theatre for many years as a lighting designer, actor and technical advisor. In this show, she has created something special with her cast and crew of both seasoned and debuting members of the Belleville Theatre Guild. The cast features Margaret Murray as Hilda, Dave Allen as Sam, Jeremy Alarie as Gary, Candace Meeks as Janey, Dani Marks as Bobbi and Jocelyn Brant as Beverly.

Adding some extra gloss to an excellent play, the renovations of Pinnacle Playhouse’s downstairs lounge have begun, starting with a brand new functioning bar and canteen. The volunteers of the Belleville Theatre Guild have been working hard to get ready to serve their patrons a selection of beer, wine, and other pre-mixed drinks for the first time in our Theatre’s history!

Hilda’s Yard will be showing at the Pinnacle Playhouse from April 4-21, every Thursday to Saturday at 7:30 pm with a Sunday matinée at 2 pm. Order yourself the play special; Lemonade or Black Label Beer (you’ll understand why when you see the show) and enjoy the wonderful story that this group of local thespians has put together for you. Come out and support local theatre, you’ll be glad you did!

The Pinnacle Playhouse is an accessible building with an elevator to the auditorium. Box office hours are Thursday to Saturday 5-7:30 pm & Sundays 11 am–2 pm.

You can also purchase tickets by calling the box office at 613-967-1442, or buying them online at the link below.
