The long, hot days of summer are right around the corner, and we’ve got just the treat to cool you off. There are few things that scream summer quite like a big scoop of ice cream, melting faster than you can eat it! From classic soft serve to banana splits loaded with toppings, the Bay of Quinte has you covered.

Reid's Dairy

222 Bell Boulevard, Belleville

Proudly made in the BoQ, Reid’s is Ontario’s largest locally owned and operated dairy. Get in line for a cone or one of their famous milkshakes in classic chocolate, vanilla or strawberry, or newer flavours like cappuccino, butterscotch and orange.

Reid’s is also offering their huge selection of ice cream to take home. There’s an entire alphabet’s worth of flavours, from Birthday Cake to Vanilla, with dozens of others to choose from!

The Golden Scoop

West Zwick's Park, Belleville

The Golden Scoop has been a staple at Belleville’s Pop-ups on the Bay every summer—and for good reason. Enjoy a scoop or a shake made with Reid’s Dairy ice cream in West Zwick’s Park next to the breeze of the bay and check out the other vendors, trails and playground while you’re there. Do summer days get better than this? 

Gourmet Diem

213 Front Street, Belleville

A sunny, afternoon walk along the Moira River deserves a treat, indeed! Loop around onto Front Street and pop by Gourmet Diem for a scoop of Kawartha Dairy ice cream or gelato—in a waffle cone, thank you very much. While you’re in the District, check out what else is open downtown!

L'Auberge de France

304 Front Street, Belleville

Belleville’s Parisian outpost serves up homemade ice cream and gelato in the summer months. They often have classic chocolate and vanilla, and mix it up with seasonal fruit flavours.

What's Your Scoop

2290 Frankford Road, Quinte West

Get your fill of Kawartha Dairy ice cream in a cone, milkshake or banana split at this popular spot in Quinte West! They have enough flavour options to make your head spin (and your stomach very happy).

A three-minute drive east of downtown Frankford (or ten minutes by bike), just look for the pink sign on the barn and the giant ice cream cone next to the takeout window for your next after-dinner treat.

Tin Roof Ice Creamery

21 Prince Edward Street, Brighton

Tin Roof Ice Creamery nails the classics with tall swirls of chocolate and vanilla soft serve (try it dipped or rolled in sprinkles!), but if you want your dessert to go the extra mile, go for the butter tart parfait.

Presqu'ile Park Place

250 Presqu’ile Parkway, Brighton

Off for a beach day at Presqu’ile Provincial Park? Cool off with a shake, scoop or smoothie under the blue-and-white striped awning at the Park Place. Ice cream for lunch? We can get behind that. Try one of their loaded sundaes and enjoy it out back by their campfire in the evenings.

Trent Port Marina

15 Creswell Drive, Quinte West

The Trent Port Marina has a canteen that operates during the summer months, serving up scoops of Kawartha Dairy ice cream—among other treats like hot dogs, onion rings and mozzarella sticks. Grab a cup or a cone and enjoy the view of the boats on the bay while you’re there. 

Banana Splitz Ice Cream

Quinte West Pop-ups, Centennial Park

Banana Splitz has been an annual vendor at the Quinte West Pop-ups and much loved spot for ice cream over the last two seasons. Offering a wide range of flavours, this is the spot to satisfy that sweet tooth. Check out the other food vendors and rotating artisan vendors while you’re there!

Loyalist Trading Co.

8682 Loyalist Parkway, Greater Napanee

Come for the ice cream, stay for the goats. This unique general store along the Loyalist Parkway has some friendly goats who often roam up on the roof, making it one of the most unique stops in the region.

Wavy

5379 Old Highway 2 Unit 9, Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory

Wavy is a skate, wellness and coffee shop in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory known for their delicious lineup of handcrafted drinks, including smoothies, lemonades, coffees and dirty sodas. In the summer, they offer ice cream floats for an extra decadent and cool treat.

Frosty Bubble Bliss

381 Front St, Belleville

Milkshakes meet boba at Frosty Bubble Bliss for a flavourful treat. For those who don’t know, boba are pearls typically made of tapioca that you would find in bubble tea—also available at this business. Try one of their suggested flavour combos or mix and match your ice cream and boba for a custom shake. 

Vital Scoops

10 Dundas St E, Greater Napanee

Downtown Napanee has a new ice cream parlour just in time for the summer. Vital Scoops has a huge selection of flavours to choose from, including some dairy-free/sugar-free options for those with dietary needs.

The Bay of Quinte RMB Land Acknowledgement

The Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board is committed to acknowledging, appreciating and understanding the Indigenous peoples’ historic connection to this land and to raising awareness by building relationships in collaboration with Indigenous partners and communities. 

We recognize and acknowledge that we are living and working on the traditional territory of the Wendat, Mississauga, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee which includes the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka (Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte) with whom we work in direct partnership with. 

This partnership focuses on the common goal of celebrating the region with the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka who are equal partners within the organization and at the Board of Directors table contributing to the mandate and operations.

This mandate includes listening to, learning from, and collaborating with the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka and actively incorporating their culture and heritage into the practice of responsible destination marketing and management of the region.

We understand that this land acknowledgement is only a small step towards the larger process of reparations and reconciliation.
