Fall Events in the Bay of Quinte

BIG EVENTS HAPPENING IN THE BoQ THIS FALL

Summer winding down and transitioning into fall doesn’t mean the fun stops. A change of seasons brings a new set of festivals and events taking place around the Bay of Quinte region. Celebrate the fall harvest, enjoy some of the best in local craft beverages, take in live music and even watch national athletes compete.

Angelina Hunter Trio via Belleville Downtown Blues Festival

BELLEVILLE DOWNTOWN BLUES FESTIVAL

September 6-7, Various Locations - Downtown Belleville

The second annual Belleville Downtown Blues Festival will take over the downtown on September 6 and 7 with over a dozen performances and musician workshops. Admission to most of the festival is free with donations for Gleaners Food Bank.

The headlining act is the Angelina Hunter Trio, who will kick off the festival at the Pinnacle Playhouse on Friday, September 6 at 7 pm. This is the only ticketed event in the festival.

FAMILY FUNFEST

September 14, West Zwick's Park - Belleville

Discover Belleville and Rotary Club of Belleville’s annual Family FUNFest: Fall Edition Touch a Truck will be a day full of family activities, crafts, and of course, the opportunity to touch many trucks. All sorts of vehicles like firetrucks, ambulances, tractors and dump trucks will be on site for kids to tour and learn about.

HOPS ON THE WATER

September 21, Font Street Farmers' Market - Quinte West

Hops on the Water is an all-ages, family-friendly festival featuring local craft breweries, beverage makers and food vendors from the BoQ and surrounding area. This year’s festival line-up includes live music and entertainment, roaming buskers, interactive games and activities.

The event has even been recognized as one of the Top 100 Festivals in Ontario by Festivals and Events Ontario for the last two years in a row.

NAPANEE CULTURE DAYS

September 21, Market Square - Greater Napanee

Visit market square in downtown Greater Napanee from 10 am-4 pm for local vendors, music and entertainment, author readings, face painting and a chalk drawing competition.

Head inside Napanee Town Hall for a Historical Pictorial Display and join a guided tour taking place outside at 1 pm.

BRIGHTON APPLEFEST

September 26-29, Various Locations - Brighton

For 50 years now, the Municipality of Brighton has been celebrating Applefest to highlight the height of apple harvesting season.

Events run from September 26-29, with Saturday the 28 being the big day not to miss out on. On that day, the street fair will fill Main St with over 150 local vendors and other events around town include a car show, live music, children’s village, helicopter rides, a firework and drone show and ending with a dance party.

BELLEVILLE PORCHFEST

September 28, Old East Hill and Downtown Belleville

Wander the streets of Belleville’s Old East Hill and hop from porch to porch to hear live music from local talents. Things kick off at Glanmore National Historic Site at 12:45 pm and music goes from 1-4 pm.

From there, take it downtown for the after party where the fun continues with more live music and dining.

CANADA SOCCER NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

October 9-14, Centennial Park - Quinte West

Calling all sports fans! Quinte West is the host community for the Canada Soccer 2024 Toyota National Championships U-15 Cup.

All games will be free for spectators starting on Wednesday, October 9 and ending with the gold medal matches on Thanksgiving Monday. Additional activities will be ongoing in the park throughout the weekend.

The Bay of Quinte RMB Land Acknowledgement

The Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board is committed to acknowledging, appreciating and understanding the Indigenous peoples’ historic connection to this land and to raising awareness by building relationships in collaboration with Indigenous partners and communities. 

We recognize and acknowledge that we are living and working on the traditional territory of the Wendat, Mississauga, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee which includes the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka (Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte) with whom we work in direct partnership with. 

This partnership focuses on the common goal of celebrating the region with the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka who are equal partners within the organization and at the Board of Directors table contributing to the mandate and operations.

This mandate includes listening to, learning from, and collaborating with the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka and actively incorporating their culture and heritage into the practice of responsible destination marketing and management of the region.

We understand that this land acknowledgement is only a small step towards the larger process of reparations and reconciliation.
