ROAD TRIP – SPORT + ADVENTURE

Do you consider yourself the sporty type? Or just like to try new things? Is flipping out on a snow board your thing, or is paddling down a river with a cold brew waiting at your destination more your speed? Here are some day trip adventures awaiting you in the BoQ! (overnight stays to rest your muscles are highly recommended)

Batawa Ski Hill – Only minutes north of Highway 401 in Quinte West, this local gem is the heart of the historically unique community of Batawa. Hit the slopes in the winter or traverse the trails in the summer, this community hub is a year-round outdoor playground…Dino Dig included.

99 Ski Club Lane, Batawa

Sunday Ride Club – What we call a two-fer, The Brake Room is a coffee shop and bike shop rolled into one sweet experience. Bike enthusiasts meet up on Sundays for a ride with owner Adam and we’re told there’s nothing like crushing some grav with a small group on a Sunday. Call ahead to make sure it’s on.

34 Dundas St E, Belleville

Trenton Rowing and Paddling Club – As our name, Bay of Quinte, suggests, water is part of our region. Not only the Bay but the Trent Severn Waterway that runs through Quinte West is a perfect spot to launch and TRPC rents canoes, kayaks and SUP to anyone wanting to float their boat.

80 Ontario St, Quinte West

Cruising Canoes – Owner and operator Twiggy takes you north to Mudcat Lane where you unload by the mighty Moira River. Once everyone is feeling safe and ready the 1.5-2 – hour paddle begins with Signal Brewery as the final destination. Friday nights, June to October. Beginners welcome.
