Must Do in BoQ: Enchanted in the Downtown District

Header photo: Downtown Belleville BIA

Through living and working in the Bay of Quinte region, we’ve learned a thing or two about all the things to do, see, eat and explore around here. Join us each week as we share safer, must-do activities in the BoQ, and check out the rest of our must-dos HERE.

Don’t forget to keep washing those hands, maintain physical distance from others outside your household and mask up while you support local businesses within the region. For the latest COVID updates, please visit the Hastings-Prince Edward Public Health website. As of this blog’s publishing date, the HPE region is in the Yellow-Protect zone; please abide by recommendations from your local health unit in terms of travel within/outside your community.

Holiday Passport

Your holiday list is no match for the Downtown District — shops and restaurants are open late on Thursdays and Fridays so that you have enough time to finish your shopping (and check that list twice!).

By shopping local and getting stamps from businesses along the way, you’ll be entered for a chance to win a trip around the world — in downtown Belleville!

Since hours vary for each business, you can check out the full list of holiday hours for businesses in the District here.

Selfie with Santa

We never thought of Jolly Old Saint Nick as the strong, silent type, but you may notice he’s a bit quieter than usual this year. ? The #giantsantachair is ready for your holiday selfie, around the corner from Ekort Realty.

Pedicab Ride

Sit back and relax as you explore the city on three wheels! Book your free ride on a pedicab and enjoy one of two tours (Main Street or Meyers Pier) of the Festival of Lights. Dress warmly!

(The pedicab is sanitized between rides, with a plexiglass barrier between passengers and driver. Masks are mandatory.)

Walkable Light Displays

As you mosey down Front Street in search of hot chocolate, take a quick detour down the carriage ways strung with lights and walkable displays. Your hot chocolate will still be there when you’re finished, promise!
