Visit 'Homage' by Don Stuart at John M. Parrott Art Gallery This collection of sculptural necklaces by Don Stuart was created as a celebration and tribute to numerous Canadian women. Don Stuart's travelling exhibition has made stops across Eastern Canada, and is on display for an extended time here in Belleville. Don is also the recipient of the Order of Ontario and the Order of Canada. Join us for an artist talk on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 2:30 p.m.
This month we have two options for you to choose from. You can do one or both of these projects! Artist Sheila Wright will guide you through the process in a 30 minute prerecorded video. $30 per workshop, all materials included. Flip Cup Snowflake Create a decorative fluid art snowflake in beautiful blues. 12" wood snowflake. Winter Birch Swipe We use masking tape and fluid paints to create a stunning winter birch scene. 9 x 12” canvas.
Come learn new techniques with Rachel Harbour! "Watercolour paintings are often constructed around the technique of preserving or blocking out sections of the surface of the paper to represent areas of white, allowing the translucency of the paint colours to shine. This means that, if you purchase a set of watercolour paints, the white that comes included languishes at the bottom of your tool box. Let’s get that white paint working as we make black watercolour paper the star of this painting using the same technique of preserving the paper, but reversing the effect to create our chilly night time scene." Painting: "Winter's Night" watercolour, 9" x 12" Workshop is $30 in advance to register and secure your space.
