We are thrilled to announce the upcoming Exhibition, ‘The Magic of Pencil’ by artist Doug Comeau. Please join us opening Night Friday October 6th from 6-9pm, with live music, local wines and craft beers and of course meet the artist Doug Comeau. Donations will be collected to help fund blank canvases for the local high schools, to encourage young artists to participate in an end of year student exhibit for June 2024. Any contributions are greatly appreciated. When you first see Doug Comeau’s artwork two thoughts come to mind, it’s unbelievable and how does he do it. People are fascinated by the realistic quality this self-taught artist achieves in the medium of graphite, charcoal and coloured pencil. Hours and hours of shading and blending grey tones and colour go into rendering each detailed composition. Doug is known for his innovative style and technique on a wide variety of subject matter and his ability to bring it to life. “Visual art is an interpretation of life physically applied or removed from a surface, by an individual, using some form of medium. From a very young age my visual interpretation has always been focused on the intricate details of my subject using the medium of graphite & color pencil. The idea of bringing an image to life on a flat surface absolutely fascinates me”.
