Finding Your Power in Pregnancy
Empowering mamas through connection to their changing body, growing baby, and the community that surrounds them. Help tap into your intuitive knowledge of the birth process during this six-week series as we navigate through childbirth education, therapeutic movement, and communication. Together we will learn how to alleviate common pregnancy discomfort, bring awareness to our new bodies, and connect to others in a safe space.
Pregnancy provides us with a heightened awareness. No one ever talks about how your stamina, personal power and intuitive capacity actually increase during this time.
Yoga practices are used to facilitate relief from the common conditions of pregnancy and help mothers to cope with uncomfortable symptoms such as nausea, heartburn, backache, pelvic pain, insomnia, fatigue and anxiety. They are also used to help prepare and strengthen mothers both physically and emotionally for their birthing experience. Yoga can help with attaining an optimal foetal position so that the baby is in the best possible position when the time for birth arrives.
Breathing and meditation practices are a skill that can be learnt by anyone, and can be used during everyday life to help lower stress hormones. During pregnancy this is particularly beneficial for the health and well-being of mothers and babies and for the development of their baby. During birthing, these skills can encourage a calmer, more confident and self empowered birthing experience. Posture practices are used to encourage self-awareness, strength and flexibility.
At the end of the series you will have the knowledge of safely moving into and out of poses, and the confidence to practice at home and in future classes.
