Friday Night Tales
July 10, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT
An event every week that begins at 5:00 pm on Friday, repeating until September 18, 2020

We’re pleased to announce that Steáfán Hannigan will be our host for story night on Fridays at the Old Church Theatre. An accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Steáfán is also regarded as the ‘swiss army knife’ of theatre, coming from a long line of storytellers in his native Ireland. A master of the ‘craic’, the tall tale, the many pronged anecdote and pub legends large and small, Steáfán will put you all at ease and if the stars align, might even favour us with a tale of his own.
What are the “Golden Rules” of story telling? Here are Steáfán’s FAQs:
- How long should my story be? 5/6 minutes is good.
- What kind of a story? It would be really good if it was a true story that happened to you or a traditional tale.
- Do I need to be an experienced storyteller? Absolutely not!
- How do I sign up? Come and talk to the MC that night.
So come down to our new outdoor stage and share your favourite ripping yarn. You’ll be glad you did. Get here a bit early if you’ll be needin’ a wee nip o’ courage. The bar will be open at 4:30. We’ll be cooking wood-fired pizzas and be sure to make a reservation and follow social distancing protocols.
