Art Walk Downtown Belleville

Experience a feast for all of your senses; Downtown Belleville’s Art Walk 2018. Our beautiful downtown Belleville will be transformed into a virtual gallery for all five senses.  The public is invited, free of charge, to experience a range of activities including live music and participation in artistic workshops such as collage making, sketching live models and painting with water colours. Artists in such areas as design, dance, music, vintage clothing, antique furniture, home decorating and art therapy will encourage your own creativity to flow. Let’s not neglect my personal favorite of the senses…Taste! Downtown Belleville is known for it’s mouth-watering local foods offered with a fresh, artistic flare. Also, join some of the BAA  Join some of the BAA (Belleville Arts Association) members as they demonstrate their own unique talents and special art skills. Top your evening off with a walk through Gallery Openings and enjoy the art from featured guests, or watch artists in action in one of the participating locations such as local super star graffiti artist Christopher D Bennett. Bennett is deeply involved in the Belleville & area art scene, wearing many hats. He is a break-dance instructor at Inside Out Dance Academy,  Your FITT, No Limits, Team Member at Stylin Flow Entertainment, Co-Founder/Emcee at Sound Improvement and founder of  Dislexsick SeRnA. Today he will be will be set up out front of the Belleville Art Association making and selling personalized names drawn in Graffiti for $20.00 (8.5 x 11) Don’t miss his amazing talent and what is sure to be an event in it’s own right. With so many extraordinary people, places and things to see & do, you may need a little help, so there will be maps available to guide you through this whimsical walk. Thomas Estevez Design – 395 Front St. – Renowned artist Jesus Estevez will be demonstrating the techniques he uses in creating an oil portrait painting. You may also choose to spend time at this location, having a look at some stunning hand-crafted jewellery.

Belleville Art Association – 392 Front St. – Will be holding a celebration for the winners of their Children’s Design/Colouring Contest which commemorates the B.A.A.’s 60th anniversary. There will be 10 winners for each age group (10 – 14 and 9 and under). Also for viewing is an array of art works created by local member of the B.A.A.

Barrett’s Office Pro – 314 Front St. – Is hosting a guest artist who will be doing a painting demonstration. Feeling inspired? Barrett’s has an extensive art supply inventory for you to choose from.

Boretski Gallery – 300 Front St. Enjoy the array of beautiful Vintage clothing being modelled and feel free to ask the owner Marina questions on her seamstress techniques, or how the movies found her!

Dance Company – 282 Front St. – Check out some moves, and join a drop-in Dance Class.

Parrott Art Gallery – 254 Pinnacle St. – Gala Opening of an Art Show featuring Barb Whelan in retrospective, and Maria Mareno. Refreshments and musical accompaniment will be provided.

She Thrives – 61 Front Street – Community Art Project and Live Music. Co-create magic! She Thrives welcomes families, the local community and Art Walk participants to join them in creating a string art installation. Once completed this community project will hang inside She Thrives for all to enjoy!

Quinte Art Council Gallery – 36 Bridge Street – Will offer a greeting card make and take, in the back room at the QAC, here you will be able to explore several simple printing techniques.

Gallery One -Twenty- One -48 Bridge St. East. Join our Collage Card Making workshop, where local artist Marie Timbers, will provide materials and instructions that will support you in creating a special card for someone you would like to impress!!
