OFF TO THE RACES

The Brighton Speedway has begun its jam-packed season! Going strong for its 56th year and sticking to its motto, “racing on dirt as it should be,” the Speedway has been keeping the area entertained with its ⅓ mile clay oval track since the Rinaldi Family purchased it in 1981. The five divisions of late model, Canadian Modified, Thunderstocks, 4-Cylinder and 6-Cylinder races occur on a weekly basis from May to the end of September. There is no shortage of enthusiasm from the devoted fans that come to hear the roar of revving engines and jaw-dropping hits that only create more excitement for the laps of carnage that we’re all (not so secretly) waiting to see.
Here are six of their upcoming races that we’re looking forward to:
School Bus Races
June 17
This fan favourite features 20 full-sized school buses on the ⅓ mile track for 15 laps of carnage.
Monster Truck Madness
July 22
Trainwrecks, sabotage and jumps are a must-see at this event! You’ll definitely want to grab your tickets early for this one.
Wall of Fame + NLMA + OSCAAR Hot Rods
August 12
This event honours three new inductees who have contributed to the Speedway into the wall of fame.
Fan Appreciation Night
August 19
Fans are what bring the energy to the track and this is where meeting the drivers and seeing their cars up close makes it even more personal—especially when you get to leave with an autograph or two.

Final Points Night
September 9
This is the final points night of the season for the racers, featuring Late Model, the John’s Equipment Danny Reid 50 Lap Memorial, Comp 4, Mini Stock and Stingers.
Eve of Destruction
September 30
This night is a highlight that is usually sold out by its start time, featuring endurance, long jumps and school busses!
The races listed above are just a few of the events on this season at the Brighton Speedway. You can count on catching a race just about every Saturday night from May to September there. Visit brightonspeedway.ca for more events and tickets.
