U19 Women’s World Floorball Championships

Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre 265 Cannifton Road, Belleville

the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre (QSWC) will host Belleville’s first-ever international sports championship. Teams from 15 countries will be heading to Belleville for the Women’s Under 19 Floorball Championship. With its four National Hockey League-sized rinks, state-of-the-art fitness facilities, and extensive meeting space, QSWC was designed to accommodate world-class events. Floorball is a fast-paced, exciting, safe and low-cost type of indoor hockey. At first glance, it resembles floor hockey or ball hockey but is played with specialized light-weight fibre-glass or carbon fibre sticks and rules that promote safety and skill. It is played all over the world and is extremely popular in Europe. The major differences between ice hockey and floorball are that the rules of floorball do not allow high sticking or a lot of body contact so there is less chance of injury.
