Plus, an 18-million dollar VIA Rail upgrade means you can check your Instagram while enjoying a hot coffee in the comfort of business class.
WHERE TO SLEEP – We have almost 2,000 hotel rooms in the region from top-tier brands like Marriott and Holiday Inn. All have WIFI and meeting space available and are just minutes from our sporting venues (or the beach!).
WHERE TO EAT – TripAdvisor tells us there are 446 restaurants in the Bay of Quinte region. Sports staples like Boston Pizza and Shoeless Joe’s are within walking distance of our hotels and catering is easy and affordable. If it’s fine dining or specialty food you’re after, we’ve got those too.
ADVENTURE – Take a break from your event or conference and explore our 1,200 km of shoreline with a guided paddle, hit the beach at Sandbanks, take a wine or craft beer tour, or enjoy one of our 33 conservation areas. Ask us to create a custom itinerary for you while you’re here – it’s our job and we love it.
OUR SPORTS RESUME – We welcomed Hometown Hockey in 2018, Ultimate Provincials, U19 Women’s World Floorball Championship in 2016 and we host over 4,000 anglers each year for Kiwanis Walleye World (North America’s largest amateur fishing tournament). We regularly host nationals, provincials, and regionals of all types, indoor and out because we’ve got the facilities and the community to receive them.
VOLUNTEERS – One of the jewels of our community is Volunteer & Information Quinte. With a roster of over 4,000 people, ready and willing to help out with any event, they help feed our sports and events tourism engine every year.
AHL & OJHL Hockey, figure skating, provincial ball hockey, and even world floorball championships – we’ve hosted them all and we’d love to continue that trend. Our indoor facilities in Belleville and Quinte West are located on Highway 401, between Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal and just minutes from thousands of hotel rooms and hundreds of restaurants. Come for the sports, but stay for the water adventures, craft breweries, and Prince Edward County wine tours.
