Quinte Health Care Corporation

Trenton Memorial Hospital is a member of the Quinte Health Care Corporation (QHC) which consists of three other fully-accredited hospitals: Belleville General, North Hastings Hospital and Prince Edward County Memorial.

Trenton Memorial Hospital

Trenton Memorial Hospital provides primary and secondary care to patients. It houses 70 beds and a full range of clinical and diagnostic services including: Cardiology, Complex Continuing Care, Emergency Care, Intensive Care, Laboratory, Medical Services, Outpatient Clinics, Pharmacy, Mental Health Crisis Clinic, Radiology and Surgical Services.

Quinte West Medical Centre

To meet the primary health care needs now and inthe future, the Quinte West community initiated the development of the Quinte West Medical Centre. One of the key components of the strategy is to attract and retain primary care physicians to our community. The Centre operates as an independent non-profit corporation run by a volunteer Board of Directors that ensures proper representation from the community. The Centre is conveniently located behind Quinte Health Care Trenton Memorial Hospital occupying 4,500 square feet on the lower level of the Trenton Memorial Lodge. This provides space for up to five (full time equivalent) doctors operating in a multi physician primary care practice environment. The QWMC is currently looking for and recruiting additional family doctors.

Getting Around

Quinte West is well connected. With its location directly along the Highway 401 corridor, between Toronto and Ottawa, there are a number of transportation options into and around the City.  Residents of Quinte West can get to and from Ottawa and Toronto, and all points in between, without the headaches of living in a major centre.

Quinte access operates the public transit service for the City of Quinte West in the Trenton ward. Their service is provided utilising 4 vans and 3 buses on the specialized service and 2 buses on the fixed route public service. All of the vehicles are fully accessible and provide comfortable and reliable transportation for all their riders. Quinte West is located approximately 1.5 hours east of Toronto  along the Highway 401 corridor and 2.5 hours west of Ottawa.

Highway Access

Quinte West is well served by the local highway network. Our location on the Highway 401 corridor, a four-lane controlled highway, allows access to all of the major markets in southern Ontario and also serves as a route to major border crossings.
