SUMMARY:BQYC 150th Anniversary Celebration - Eastern Yacht Circuit Races
DESCRIPTION:The annual Eastern Yachting Circuit (EYC)\, 2026 EYC races are being hosted by Bay of Quinte Yacht Club. This is a special year for BQYC and we are proud to host this event as part of our 150 Jubilee Celebrations. \nThe EYC regatta is an annual event\, rotating between US and Canadian Yacht Clubs from the eastern shores of Lake Ontario. BQYC targeted hosting this event in 2026 to coincide with its 150th anniversary. \nThis year’s EYC regatta\, is being held July 9 – 11\, and will bring approximately 40-70 yachts\, including keelboats and multihulls\, from around eastern shores of Lake Ontario. \nWe expect 160 – 210 competing sailors\, together with visiting friends and family who drive to meet them at BQYC. \nThese races have been held since 1928\, in a spirit of fair play for the 3 day regatta and have a significant family component. \nRaces will be held in Big Bay and Bay of Quinte opposite Belleville’s Meyers Pier\, winds permitting. \nThe Pier will be an excellent vantage point to take in the Races of many talented Eastern Lake Ontario sailors from both Canadian and American yacht clubs.

DESCRIPTION:EARLY SUMMER SHOW – GALLERY 121 – JUNE 2nd– JULY 11th \nRECEPTION – JUNE 6th\, 2026 \nThe members of Gallery 121 are pleased to present their Early Summer Show\, showcasing Guest Artists Emóke Wilson\, Michael Amar and Featured Member Artist Cara Wilson. \nCara is a multi-dimensional artist\, whose primary medium is acrylic augmented with textural media and found objects. During her years as an international designer Cara absorbed a wide range of style influences and since retiring has embraced mixed media and is a creator of inspired landscape work. Cara has supported her development through local association memberships\, and her paintings have been exhibited widely in the region. \nEmóke Wilson claims that art has been her best friend since childhood. Today she is also a Mixed-Media Artist\, creating expressionistic\, exclusive one-of-a-kind 2D and 3D works that are captured in unconventional works using bold colours\, patterns and textures. \nMichael Amar is a well-known artist in the Hastings and Kingston areas where he has presented both solo and group shows\, including at the Parrott Gallery. Michael is a master of many mediums including\, but not limited to oil\, sculpting\, wood\, copper\, and inks.

During her years as an international designer Cara absorbed a wide range of style influences and since retiring has embraced mixed media and is a creator of inspired landscape work. Cara has supported her development through local association memberships\, and her paintings have been exhibited widely in the region. \nEmóke Wilson claims that art has been her best friend since childhood. Today she is also a Mixed-Media Artist\, creating expressionistic\, exclusive one-of-a-kind 2D and 3D works that are captured in unconventional works using bold colours\, patterns and textures. \nMichael Amar is a well-known artist in the Hastings and Kingston areas where he has presented both solo and group shows\, including at the Parrott Gallery. Michael is a master of many mediums including\, but not limited to oil\, sculpting\, wood\, copper\, and inks.

DESCRIPTION:What a treat it is to have Stephen Stanley join us to play the Speakeasy. \nToronto-based singer-songwriter and guitarist\, Stephen Stanley may most immediately be known as a founding member\, lead guitarist and vocalist with acclaimed\, early 90’s alt-rock band\, The Lowest of the Low. The groups undeniable and “genuinely timeless album” (Exclaim!)\, Shakespeare My Butt…\, earned gold record status and saw the band share stages with the likes of Billy Bragg\, The Violent Femmes\, amongst many others. Fame took the band on a relentless\, highly pressurized and ultimately\, band-fracturing tour schedule. Stephen was featured in the group’s recent documentary\, Subversives that was released in September of 2023. \nStephen ultimately\, had his own mark and music to make and The Stephen Stanley Band became his focus.
