DESCRIPTION:FALL SHOW – GALLERY 121 – OCTOBER 7TH – NOV. 15TH\, 2025\nRECEPTION SATURDAY OCT. 18TH\, 2025 \nThe members of Gallery 121 are excited to show of their new works of art alongside those of Kayo O’Young\, a famous potter and a well-known realistic\, artist from Hastings. \nKayo O’Young is recognized as one of Canada’s finest porcelain creators with his works being featured in two films. His pieces are unique in style\, minimalistic\, intriguing\, inviting and fired with hand made glazes. These pieces may be found in some of the most prestigious museums and galleries in North America. \nThe realism and luminosity found in Barb McGuey’s oil paintings is spell binding. Barb’s focus is on the natural world through landscapes\, flowers and animals. \nThe Featured Member Artist for this show is Terry Hart. Terry uses natural beeswax that has been heated and applied to a board where it is fused\, carved\, and coaxed into landscapes\, abstracts and city/rural scenes. \nPlease join us for refreshments and meet that Artists at a reception on Saturday Oct. 18th from 2-4 p.m.

DESCRIPTION:Opening Reception: October 11\, 2025 from 4 to 6 PM. Artist remarks at 5 PM. \nFor more than four decades\, Teichert’s luminous paintings\, often described as “visual poetry\,” have captivated critics and collectors on the international stage. Her bold palette\, curated markings\, layered textures and translucent colours coalesce to create remarkable\, almost holographic depth. \nConfluence is defined as a “coming or flowing together\, meeting or gathering at one point.” The title resonates with contemporary artist Alice Teichert as it describes the magical interplay of colour\, form and light evident in each of her deeply evocative compositions. \nThis exhibition presents a superb collection of new paintings produced during the last four years\, alongside works from a recent 40-year survey show that pay homage to the two-page music sheets of the artist’s childhood piano lessons.

Her influences range from old jazz\, blues and soul to the heavy\, dark\, indie folk of today. \nHer pensive\, haunting\, and occasionally sullen lyrics are expressed by an impassioned\, soulful voice using playful melodies\, resulting in a work of art that parallels the dichotomy between the realities of love and life. \nMelodi’s long awaited debut album\, released in the fall of 2019\, is a collection of bruised and tattered love songs\, selected from the last 10 years’ work. She’s excited for this juncture in her art\, and the new direction it will take.
