GALLERY 121 PRESENTS THEIR 2024 SPRING SHOW: APRIL 23RD – JUNE 1ST
Our Guest Artist for the Spring show is Christine Walker Bird. Christine is a multi-talented artist who makes the composition of her threads dance to life in fabric arts which include elegantly detailed leather and fabric bags, table runners, wall hangings and much more. Christine’s show is entitled “Renewal”. Befitting as her alluring works primarily consist of a selection of re-purposed materials.
The Featured Member Artist is David Alexander; a teacher, and world traveler, whose art has found homes in multiple continents including being presented to Pope Paul 11, and religious leaders of both the Jewish and Muslim faiths in Jerusalem. His powerful show is appropriately entitled “In Transit”. David is comfortable and excels in in many mediums as may be seen in his thought-provoking works.
Christine, David, and the talented members of Gallery 121 will be present at an Opening Reception; April 27th between 2 and 4 p.m. Please join us to welcome spring!

The Bay of Quinte RMB Land Acknowledgement

The Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board is committed to acknowledging, appreciating and understanding the Indigenous peoples’ historic connection to this land and to raising awareness by building relationships in collaboration with Indigenous partners and communities. 

We recognize and acknowledge that we are living and working on the traditional territory of the Wendat, Mississauga, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee which includes the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka (Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte) with whom we work in direct partnership with. 

This partnership focuses on the common goal of celebrating the region with the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka who are equal partners within the organization and at the Board of Directors table contributing to the mandate and operations.

This mandate includes listening to, learning from, and collaborating with the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka and actively incorporating their culture and heritage into the practice of responsible destination marketing and management of the region.

We understand that this land acknowledgement is only a small step towards the larger process of reparations and reconciliation.
