The Select Referral Team is proud to present the annual Dave Mackay Memorial Classic for Charity, at Black Bear Ridge on August 14th.
David Mackay, founder of Mackay Insurance, got his start in the business in 1965 working for Henry Ward out of Sherbrooke, Quebec.
In 1977, David opened an office in Belleville. 45 years later “MACKAY INSURANCE BROKERS INC.”, has grown to well over 10,000 clients and employs 20 full-time staff between their Belleville and Napanee offices.
David’s passion was to give back to his community. He was a founding member of The Select Referral Team in Belleville in the fall of 2013 when a group of like-minded Quinte-area businesspeople decided to pool their connections for mutual growth. SRT is focused entirely on serving and giving back to the local community.
After David’s passing in 2015, SRT created the Dave Mackay Memorial Classic to raise money to serve the community in his honor.
Last year they raised just over $32,000 for two deserving organizations. This year they are proud to be donating all proceeds to Christmas Sharing and The Grace Inn Shelter.
The day includes lunch, swag bags, a round of golf with a cart, an afternoon of games and fun on the course, dinner, prizes, a silent auction, a 50/50 draw, a thank-you gift for each golfer, and endless networking opportunities.
