Celebrating Pride in the Bay of Quinte

CELEBRATING PRIDE IN THE BoQ

June is Pride Month, an annual celebration dedicated to recognizing the contributions of and fighting for the rights of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. We have three local Pride committees that are gearing up for celebrations in Belleville, Napanee, and Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory for Pride in 2025.

Various Events – June 1–7

The festival officially kicks off on June 1, with a full week of events leading up to the Parade, West Zwicks Park festivities, and Pride After Dark on June 7.

The festival theme this year is UNITY. “It isn’t just a theme—it’s a heartbeat. A celebration of community, opportunity and equalunity. It’s about what connects us, lifts us, and keeps us moving forward, together,” as posted on their Facebook page.

The link below goes to Bay of Quinte Pride’s Facebook page with details on all of the events throughout the week.

We recognize and acknowledge that we are living and working on the traditional territory of the Wendat, Mississauga, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee which includes the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka (Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte) with whom we work in direct partnership with.

This partnership focuses on the common goal of celebrating the region with the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka who are equal partners within the organization and at the Board of Directors table contributing to the mandate and operations.

This mandate includes listening to, learning from, and collaborating with the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka and actively incorporating their culture and heritage into the practice of responsible destination marketing and management of the region.
