DIY Like a Girl: Sink & Faucet Basics Workshop

Come to a DIY Like A Girl event right here in Quinte West. Join local handywoman Tammy Watson, founder of Canadian Handywoman and Home + Farm editor Harrowsmith to discover all things sink and faucet.

This is for you if you’re not sure what to do when your faucet starts leaking—or just want to understand how your sink actually works.

An in-person hands-on workshop is designed to help you feel more confident with everyday plumbing basics. You’ll learn how sinks and faucets come together, what commonly goes wrong, and how to handle simple fixes without panic.

In this session, you’ll learn:
• How a sink and faucet system works
• How to identify common issues like leaks and drips
• How to safely take apart and reassemble key components
• Basic troubleshooting and maintenance tips

You’ll have the chance to work on a mock sink setup and practice in a supportive, no-pressure environment.

No experience needed. Just come ready to learn.

The Bay of Quinte RMB Land Acknowledgement

The Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board is committed to acknowledging, appreciating and understanding the Indigenous Peoples’ historic connection to this land and to raising awareness by building relationships in collaboration with Indigenous partners and communities. 

We recognize and acknowledge that we are living and working on the traditional territory of the Wendat, Mississaugas, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee which includes the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka (Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte) with whom we work in direct partnership with. 

This partnership focuses on the common goal of celebrating the region with the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka who are equal partners within the organization and at the Board of Directors table contributing to the mandate and operations.

This mandate includes listening to, learning from, and collaborating with the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka and actively incorporating their culture and heritage into the practice of responsible destination marketing and management of the region.

We understand that this land acknowledgement is only a small step towards the larger process of reparations and reconciliation.
