As I write this piece, Quinte still has snow on the ground and our golf is limited to watching the Pro Tours on the Golf Channel and dreaming about the spring. But experience tells me that as we put January and February behind us, golfers start to plan out their season. And whether you play at your local club or enjoy the many golf options that Quinte has to offer, the good news is that Quinte offers a golf opportunity for all skill levels and ages. Golf is a “Game for Life”.
In the coming months we will share information on what makes golf in Quinte such an enjoyable experience, perhaps some insight into the people that are helping to create your playing experience and some of the local golf history that perhaps you can relive – or relate to – as you play our fine golf courses.
Did you know that the PGA Tour Canada’s Great Waterway Classic is coming to Quinte in both 2014, at Loyalist Country Club and 2015, at Black Bear Ridge? Well now you do and that tells you something about what we have to offer in golf experiences.
As we get closer to those dates, we will profile the event and what it means for our area to have the PGA Tour Canada visiting us.
The quality of Quinte’s golf courses is such that over the last 20 years all of the major Provincial Amateur Golf Championships have been hosted by one of our courses. We will profile what it is about these courses that has led to this honour and what the impact is whenever events of this significance pay us a visit.
And if your focus in playing golf is to just have an opportunity to spend a few quiet hours, enjoying the sunshine, being close to nature and playing affordable golf then a Quinte golf course exists is for you.
So welcome to the golf section of Quintessential. We hope you will return regularly and that the information we provide will enhance your Quinte golf experiences. It is a great place to play golf.
